On 4th of February, 2018, Shishu Sarothi had the privilege to welcome Mr. Sriram Rajamani, Managing Director of Microsoft Research India to our organization.
Shishu Sarothi being one of the pioneer organizations working in the field of disability since decades has got this opportunity to host Mr. Rajamani. We have been fortunate to have a worthwhile discussion and get his insight on how technology can be made accessible and how it can be used as a tool to improvise the lives of disabled people.
Mr. Rajamani was overwhelmed by the warm welcome by children, governing body members and all the staff of Shishu Sarothi, who had the honor to talk him through the various units and projects under the aegis of Shishu Sarothi. Mr. Arman Ali, Executive Director of Shishu Sarothi elaborated more on the kind of work that Shishu Sarothi engages with and the struggles faced by an organization like us due to the lack of knowledge and accessibility to new technologies.
We are fortunate to exist at a time when technology is blooming and so many new, advanced and inclusive technologies are making its way. Technologies, as we know could help disable people contribute more in the workplace as well as improve their quality of life.
Mr. Rajamani honored us with an insightful speech and discussion about how technology can play a big part in creating accessible and inclusive opportunities. We are fortunate to have had such an interactive session with Mr. Rajamani where we could talk about the obstacles we face due to the lack of technological advancement and were glad to know further about Microsoft ‘s inclusive practices. He further told us about the contribution of the research lab of Microsoft and various other programs under their CSR initiative for social development.
The visit was concluded with an interactive session between Mr. Rajamani and the audience.
It was a pleasure to host Mr. Sriram Rajamani and learn about his insight on inclusion and organizations like us. We hope to join hands with Microsoft to build a brighter future for all.
