Two new Learning Centres have recently been set up in Karbi Anglong and Kamrup Metro, each working closely with five SSA schools in their respective districts, with support from the WIPRO Foundation. These centres aim to strengthen inclusive and equitable education by providing remedial and foundational learning support for children, particularly those struggling with literacy, numeracy, and classroom participation, including children with disabilities. A key focus is also on social-emotional learning (SEL), helping children build confidence, empathy, and positive peer relationships that support their overall growth. The field teams and facilitators are engaging with teachers, children, and communities to create responsive learning environments, while also building teacher capacity and introducing activity-based, child-centred approaches. Through this initiative, the Learning Centres are emerging as demonstration hubs for inclusive education, fostering collaboration between schools, families, and local education systems to improve both academic outcomes and children’s social-emotional well-being.
